About

From farm girl to fashionista
I grew up on a farm in the heart of the Central Valley with my parents and twin brother who, luckily for me, would carry on the farming tradition. I did pay my dues in the farming world though, showing pigs at the county fair for over nine years. The difference between my brother and me was he would put every penny he earned into savings, and I would spend mine on that piece of clothing I had been coveting over for months (nothing has changed).
After high school I moved to the small, beautiful town of San Luis Obispo, Ca. located on the central coast. I had no idea how lucky I was to be living here. I attended Cal Poly State University and majored in Agricultural Science with a minor in Wine and Viticulture. I can’t tell you what compelled me to major in Ag Science, but the Wine and Vit minor was no surprise ;).
I started working in retail my freshman year of college. From day one I knew it was for me. I love everything about clothes. The way they make me feel, the fabric, the textures, the colors, and the movement. To me clothing is art.
Four and a half years later, I’m still in the fashion industry. I graduated in December of 2010 and am now the manager of Ambiance, a fabulous and beautiful boutique in downtown SLO.
I’m excited to say I just moved into my first apartment by myself. It’s an amazing one-bedroom located in the middle of downtown. It is everything I could have hoped for. From the glass knobs on my kitchen cabinets and drawers, to my old-fashioned pull out windows, my apartment is a vintage lovers dream. I keep myself busy by constantly decorating and rearranging my new apartment and am dying to share the process with all of you. I don’t think my place will ever be completely “finished”, but until then I hope you enjoy following me on all of my excursions… from the fashion to the furniture.
Cheers! Kristin
